The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has strongly advocated for his re-election as President in the upcoming December 7 polls. The former President emphasized that Ghana requires an experienced leader to tackle its economic challenges, rather than a leader with untested ideas.
Speaking at a community engagement in Juapong, located in the Volta Region, Mahama underscored the NDC’s commitment to prioritizing youth development in its next administration. He urged the youth to accept money if offered by politicians but to make the right decision by voting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of power.
“Before the election, they will come with plenty of money. When they come, I urge you to take it. But on election day, remember the eight years of suffering, hunger, and poverty, and vote for a government and a president who will turn this nation around,” Mahama stated.
Reflecting on past promises made by opponents, he said, “In 2016, they asked to be given a chance, with the assurance that if they didn’t perform, they could be voted out. Now, the same promises are being made again. But the youth of this country cannot afford to take chances anymore. What we need is an experienced leader who has already proven his capabilities. We are not going to gamble with our future. We are returning to experience and expertise to steer our country towards a brighter future for our youth.”
