Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has claimed that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration has successfully delivered on 80% of the promises made in their 2020 manifesto.
During a media engagement on Sunday, August 25, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the government’s commitment to honoring its promises, contrasting this with the track record of John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He alleged that Mahama only fulfilled 28% of the commitments in his 2012 manifesto.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted that the NPP has a stronger record in delivering on its promises, pointing out that Mahama reportedly failed to fulfill 203 out of the 280 promises made in his 2012 manifesto.
“We have a solid track record when it comes to delivering on our promises,” Dr. Bawumia stated. “We’ve reviewed our 2016 manifesto, and we’ve honored 83% of those commitments. Even in the midst of various crises, we’ve managed to fulfill or are in the process of fulfilling 80% of our 2020 manifesto promises.”
“In contrast, my opponent, in his 2012 manifesto, only managed to fulfill 28% of his 280 promises, leaving 203 unfulfilled. So, I believe we have a much better record in terms of keeping our promises.”
