John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to lead an industrialization drive in Accra, particularly in Amasaman, if he is elected president in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Mahama highlighted that this initiative would be in line with the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy policy, which aims to tackle the country’s unemployment challenges.
During his campaign, Mahama visited several constituencies, including Amasaman, Domeabra-Obom, Trobu, and Anyaa-Sowutuom, to promote the party’s key policy proposals.
In Amasaman, he promised to designate the Amasaman-Suhum corridor as an industrial zone, encouraging investors to set up factories and operate under the 24-hour economy policy.
“Everyone goes to Tema to set up a factory. We’ll develop this area when we come into power. Anyone wanting to establish a factory will be directed here. We’ll designate the Amasaman-Suhum stretch as an industrial zone, operating under the 24-hour economy policy,” Mahama stated.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the Free Senior High School policy and addressing its existing challenges.
