Faure Gnassingbé, President of the Council, is sponsoring an international mobile medical mission organized by the Governorate of the Plateaux Region in partnership with Tel Aviv’s Sheba Hospital and the Central Directorate of the Armed Forces Health Service (DCSSA) to provide healthcare services to local communities.
The Kpalimé Hospital Center is hosting an international mobile medical mission from February 1 to 10, offering free consultations and surgical procedures for patients suffering from common but often debilitating conditions such as abdominal hernias, lipomas, and synovial cysts.
Patients selected for the program will receive care from joint medical teams composed of Togolese practitioners and specialists from Israel, ensuring close supervision and high-quality treatment.
Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, one of the largest and most respected hospitals in the Middle East, is partnering in this mission. Known worldwide for clinical excellence, advanced research, and international collaboration, Sheba provides technical expertise, experienced surgeons, and organizational support aimed at strengthening local healthcare capacities in Togo.

The hospital is renowned for its proficiency in both general and specialized surgery, commitment to training and skills transfer, and extensive experience in humanitarian missions and global health partnerships.
This initiative aligns with Togo’s national efforts to expand equitable access to healthcare, particularly for vulnerable communities and populations living far from specialized facilities. Beyond providing surgical care, the mission also fosters knowledge sharing, upskilling of local medical personnel, and bringing essential healthcare services closer to citizens.
