Qatar closes two energy plants following damage from Iranian attacks.

Qatar has suspended operations at two key state-owned energy facilities after Iranian airstrikes caused damage.

Production of liquefied natural gas was halted on Monday, triggering a surge in global prices, while downstream natural gas output has also been paused.

Foreign affairs spokesperson Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari stated that the damage has been contained and technical assessments of the facilities’ safety are currently underway.

Iran has continued attacks across Gulf countries in retaliation for U.S. and Israeli strikes on its territory.

Al Ansari emphasized that Qatar’s diplomatic position remains firm, noting that there has been no contact with Tehran since the U.S.-Israel operations began on Saturday.

He added that Qatar remains committed to peace, supporting de-escalation, dialogue, and consultation to resolve the conflict peacefully.

Other major energy producers along the Gulf coast have also suspended production as the Iran-U.S. conflict intensifies.
