The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have issued a public notice regarding recent power disruptions in certain areas of the country.
The two organizations explained that the outages stem from issues at the Gas Processing Plant in Atuabo, operated by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC). These issues have led to a reduction in gas supply, impacting power generation.
In a joint statement, GRIDCo and ECG apologized for the inconvenience caused by the power interruptions.
They reassured the public that GNGC engineers are actively working to fix the problem and restore full gas supply to stabilize electricity generation.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this situation,” the statement read.
Both GRIDCo and ECG are closely monitoring the situation and expressed optimism that power supply will return to normal once the issue at the Atuabo plant is resolved.
The agencies urged the public to remain patient as efforts continue to address the problem and reduce further disruptions.
In a related update, ECG announced a scheduled maintenance for parts of Accra on Thursday, September 26.
