Iran’s Cultural Heritage Ministry reports that over 50 historic and cultural sites across the country were damaged during a two-week period of U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Officials stated that 56 locations were affected, including museums, government buildings, traditional bazaars, and mosques, raising concerns about the impact of military operations on Iran’s historical landmarks.
Notable sites reported damaged include the Golestan Palace, a Qajar-era royal complex in Tehran, the Shah Abbas Mosque, and the 17th-century Chehel Sotoun palace in Isfahan, all recognized for their architectural and cultural significance.
Additional damage was reported in provinces such as Kurdistan Province, Lorestan Province, and Kermanshah Province. The ministry noted that assessments are ongoing and the full extent of the destruction has yet to be determined.
Cultural authorities warned that the strikes could have long-term consequences for preservation efforts and the protection of historic sites during armed conflicts.
