Bernard Mornah, the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has announced his intention to petition the Supreme Court after the High Court dismissed his lawsuit challenging the Electoral Commission’s decision to disqualify him from the 2024 presidential race.
Speaking to the media on Monday, October 21, following the ruling, Mornah argued that the Electoral Commission made an error in disqualifying him and ten other candidates. He expressed confidence in the legitimacy of his claims and stressed the need for the Supreme Court to review the case.
Mornah revealed that he has already instructed his legal team to take the matter to the Supreme Court for further interpretation.
“The EC made mistakes on their own forms, but we are not allowed to make mistakes. The judge ignored that, which defies common sense. What is the error they’re referring to? Is it a data entry mistake or a composition error? And why were these not addressed in court?”
He further criticized the High Court for not considering the key issues raised in the case and confirmed that his legal team is preparing to quickly pursue the matter at the Supreme Court.
