Auditor-General cases to be assigned to new High Courts, Mahama reveals.

President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that individuals flagged in Auditor-General reports will now face prosecution in newly created High Courts, as part of efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.

Addressing workers at the May Day celebration in Koforidua, the President commended the Chief Justice and the Judiciary for establishing additional High Courts, describing the move as an important boost to the country’s justice system.

“I want to thank the Chief Justice and the Judiciary for setting up the newly created additional High Courts.”

He noted that the courts will focus specifically on cases involving those cited in Auditor-General findings, working alongside existing accountability mechanisms.

“From this year, persons indicted in the Auditor General’s report will be prosecuted in these new courts, in addition to the Auditor General’s power of disallowance and surcharge,” he stated.
