The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, convened a high-level meeting to review preparations for the proposed Ghana–U.S. Chamber of Commerce Trade Mission to Ghana, which is expected to run from May 30 to June 5, 2026.
The session was led by Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Sampson Ahi on behalf of the sector minister and brought together agencies operating under the ministry to assess Ghana’s readiness, priority initiatives and major investment opportunities expected to be highlighted during the visit.
According to the deputy minister, plans for the trade mission emerged following the recent visit by John Dramani Mahama to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the United States.
Talks during the meeting centred on improving coordination among institutions ahead of the mission, including preparations for investment roundtables and business-to-business meetings intended to strengthen commercial and investment ties between Ghana and the United States.
Officials also identified sectors likely to draw investor attention during the visit, such as agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, technology and other strategic areas driving Ghana’s economic growth.
The ministry stated that the upcoming mission offers Ghana an opportunity to promote its investment prospects and reinforce its reputation as an attractive destination for global business partnerships and investment.
