EC Hires Over 200 Experts to Support Accurate Result Collation for 2024 Election

The Electoral Commission (EC) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a flawless electoral process that upholds public trust and strengthens democratic values.

In a strategic move to boost operational efficiency, the EC has recruited over 200 professionals specializing in mathematics, statistics, and related quantitative fields. This initiative aims to enhance the credibility and accuracy of election results.

During a media interview on Tuesday, November 5, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Chairperson, discussed the Commission’s preparations and highlighted the importance of transparency and accuracy in the upcoming elections. Dr. Asare emphasized the EC’s focus on minimizing both minor and significant errors that could affect public confidence.

He noted that the newly recruited specialists would play a vital role in supporting accurate data collation, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis—crucial components for a reliable electoral process.

“The Commission has already hired over 280,000 individuals to assist in this election. Additionally, we’ve recruited professionals with backgrounds in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics to support quantitative methods at the constituency level, working closely with returning officers to ensure accuracy,” Dr. Asare explained.
