The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned 5-hour power interruption in parts of Accra on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to allow for maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
According to the ECG’s Accra East Region, the exercise will result in a temporary interruption in power supply to some customers within the Airport area and its surrounding communities.
The maintenance works are scheduled to take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
ECG said the exercise forms part of efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply in the affected areas.
The company apologised for any inconvenience the outage may cause and urged affected customers to bear with the situation as the works are carried out.
