Mahama Accuses NPP and Electoral Commission of Election Manipulation Plot

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of colluding with the Electoral Commission (EC) to influence the December 7 general elections in the NPP’s favor.

Speaking at a mini rally in Sekondi, Western Region, on Tuesday, November 26, Mahama alleged that 65 NPP members had been recruited as temporary EC staff in the Gomoa East constituency of the Central Region. According to Mahama, these individuals, identified as card-bearing NPP members, were recommended to the EC by an NPP Member of Parliament and party executives.

He stated that this revelation supports the NDC’s concerns about a coordinated effort between the EC and the government to manipulate election results.

“We must be vigilant and closely monitor the polls,” Mahama said. “I have seen a video from Gomoa East showing a recording where an NPP MP and executives submitted 65 party members to an EC official, who then added them. If such individuals are stationed at polling centers, can we expect fairness? This is evidence of the collusion we have long suspected between the EC and the NPP to rig the elections.”

Mahama called on voters to remain alert during the election process to ensure transparency and fairness.
