The US President Donald Trump responded to yesterday’s Russian missile attack on Sumy, which killed 34 people. The American leader called it a “horrible thing,” Forbes reports.
“I was told they made a mistake, it was terrible,” Trump said during a conversation with members of the media at the White House.
When asked by journalists what exactly he meant by the word “mistake,” the American leader did not clarify.
Instead, the President of the United States once again repeated that “they (the Russians – ed.) made a mistake.”
“I believe so. Look, ask them,” Trump said.
In addition, the American leader expressed the opinion that “for that war (Russia against Ukraine – ed.) to have started is an abuse of power.”
“This country would have never allowed this war to have started, if I were president,” Trump once again repeated his statement.

This attack targeted the city center and took place on the major holiday of Palm Sunday. The shelling occurred at a time when the streets were filled with people, leading to significant casualties among the civilian population.
According to the latest data, at least 34 people were killed, including children, and the number of injured has already reached 117 people, including 11 children. The largest number of victims were in a trolleybus passing by the site of the explosion.
Due to the shelling, residential and non-residential buildings were damaged, including the local university, and vehicles were destroyed. Local authorities and rescuers continue to deal with the aftermath of the attack and provide assistance to the victims.
