VFS Global’s UK Visa Premium Application Centre Opens in Kumasi

VFS Global is set to officially launch a new UK Visa Premium Application Centre in Kumasi on Thursday, June 26, 2025 to bring UK visa processing services closer to residents in the Ashanti Region and beyond.

The new centre, located at the Golden Bean Hotel in Nhyiaeso, Adum, Kumasi, offers applicants the opportunity to submit visa applications and enrol biometrics locally, eliminating the need to travel to Accra.

This expansion follows the success of the existing state-of-the-art Visa Application Centre at the Grand Oyeeman Building in Accra, which has been operational since October 2024.

The move aims to address the growing demand for UK visas from Ghana, with the UK remaining one of the top destinations for Ghanaian travellers

Ghana is currently ranked among the top ten African nationalities applying for UK visit visas.

H.E Keith McMahon, Chargé d’Affaires at the British High Commission in Accra, described the expansion as a major step towards strengthening the UK-Ghana partnership.

“We are delighted to expand UK visa application services to customers outside Accra. Kumasi and the Ashanti region are a crucial part of our bilateral relationship, and we look forward to welcoming more travellers from this region to the UK,” he said.

Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, also expressed optimism about the new centre’s impact.

“Opening the Premium Application Centre in Kumasi helps us cater to a larger number of travellers seeking UK visas. It complements our existing facility in Accra and offers customers the same level of comfort, convenience, and efficiency.”

Beyond basic application submission, the Kumasi centre will offer several value-added services, including document upload assistance, real-time application status notifications, and courier return of documents. Applicants can also opt for the “Keep My Passport While Applying” service, allowing them to retain their passports during application processing.

VFS Global has been a partner to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) since 2003 and currently offers visa services in 142 countries globally following the award of a new contract in 2023.

The Kumasi Premium Application Centre operates from 8 AM to 2 PM and bookings can be made online at https://visa.vfsglobal.com/gha/en/gbr/.
