Thomas Partey Denies Rape and Sexual Assault Charges: Trial Stated For November 2026.

The Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to multiply sexual offence charges, with his trail scheduled to commence on November 2, 2026.

Thomas Partey, a Ghanaian International and current midfielder for Villarreal, who has been charged by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the UK faces two counts of rape involving one woman and three counts involving another, while the sexual assault charge relates to a third woman (incidents allegedly occurred between April 2021 and June 2022) during his time at Arsenal has denied all charges and hence pleaded Not Guilty.

He entered his plea during a court appearance on Wednesday, September 17, dressed in black trousers, a black quarter-zip jumper, and a blue jacket. His appearance came less than 24 hours after featuring for Spanish side Villarreal in their UEFA Champions League clash against Tottenham Hotspur, where he was jeered by Spurs fans throughout the game. Villarreal lost the match 1-0.

The alleged offences were said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022 and The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the first report was received in February 2022. He was formally charged shortly after leaving Arsenal at the end of his contract in June this year.

Prior to this, Partey had earlier appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he was granted bail under strict conditions, including a ban on contacting any of the women involved in the case.

Partey’s lawyer has maintained that the midfielder “denies all the charges against him” and “welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name.”

Partey joined Villarreal on August 7, 2025, a transfer that sparked protests among some sections of the club’s supporters. His plea hearing, originally scheduled for September 2 at the Old Bailey, was postponed without explanation, resulting in Wednesday’s court session.
