Visa Waiver Agreement Between Ghana and Antigua and Barbuda.

A visa waiver agreement has been signed by Ghana with Antigua and Barbuda on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.

The agreement was signed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration – Ghana, who expressed gratitude to her counterpart, H.E. E.P. Chet Greene, Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Barbuda Affairs, for his role in making the deal possible.

According to the minister, this marks the 10th visa waiver agreement secured for Ghanaians since the current Foreign Minister assumed office.

“The Mahama-led administration is committed to enhancing the value of the Ghanaian passport, strengthening the country’s image internationally, and improving travel opportunities for citizens” He said

In addition, he said that, such agreements are key to boosting trade, tourism, and cultural ties, particularly in this case by deepening connections with the Caribbean.

“The Mahama Administration is deliberate about adding more value to the Ghanaian Passport, projecting our image in the comity of nations and enhancing the travel experience of Ghanaians as we boost trade, tourism, and in this particular instance connect us to our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean,” Ablakwa noted.
