As the conflict between the United States and Iran persists, casualties are being documented beyond the primary belligerents, with Egypt now allegedly among the affected nations.
Initial reports indicated that a drone suspected to be from Iran struck a port belonging to the North African country of Egypt.

According to CNN, two ships were set on fire on the 29th of July as a result of the strike, the first time, according to the report, Egypt had suffered an attack from the war.
Concerning the attack, US President Donald Trump noted that Washington would respond to Iran “very strongly.”
Egypt, which has been very vocal about bringing peace to the Middle East, immediately disclosed that it was going to launch an independent investigation into the drone strike, as the report from the American news outlet admitted that no one had claimed responsibility for the assault.
At the same time, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a day after the attack, urged a regional de-escalation to avert the further deterioration of the security situation.
By Saturday, on the 1st of August, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry relayed that some foreign media outlets had recently published “inaccurate and false reports” about the incident.
“Investigations are still ongoing to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify the party responsible,” the ministry said.
Soon after the strike, the Iranian Embassy in Egypt issued several statements categorically denying its involvement.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry source revealed that the Middle Eastern country did not carry out the operation and has no intention of conducting such attacks.
The source further emphasized that relations with Egypt remain robust, established on mutual respect and shared objectives, as seen on Asharq Al-Awsat.
Furthermore, the diplomatic mission noted that Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, disclaimed any Iranian connection to the drone strike and accused the United States of exacerbating regional instability.
“Egypt is considered a friend and important partner in the region, and its security constitutes an utmost priority for us. We must all remain vigilant toward Israeli schemes and “false flag” operations that aim to undermine regional peace,” Seyed Abbas Araghci, the Foreign Minister of Iran, said on X.
