The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) has officially launched the GITFiC African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Tertiary Club at All Nations University’s Sky Auditorium. The club’s primary objective is to propagate the concept and benefits of the AfCFTA among students. Under the patronage of Dr. Prince Brako and Ms. Lily Appiah, the club’s inauguration took place under the theme “Impacting Knowledge, Changing Mindsets, and Creating Generational Entrepreneurs for Africa’s Common Market.”

Mr. Selasi Koffi Ackom, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference, emphasized the pivotal role of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in shaping the future of the continent. He highlighted its aim to foster economic integration and promote intra-African trade.

“The GITFiC AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club aims to foster a deeper understanding of the AfCFTA among students. We believe that knowledge is power, and by equipping our members with insights into the intricacies of this historic agreement, we empower them to become informed advocates and ambassadors for economic integration and trade facilitation,” stated Mr. Ackom.

He further emphasized the club’s mission to cultivate a culture of collaboration and networking among students from diverse academic backgrounds. “The AfCFTA presents boundless opportunities for collaboration across borders, industries, and disciplines. Through our club, students will have the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and forge meaningful partnerships that transcend geographical boundaries,” he added.

He assured the commitment of the club in nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation among its members. “By providing mentorship, we aim to inspire and empower students to harness their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit,” he affirmed.

The inauguration ceremony marked a significant step towards engaging the younger generation in the continent’s economic development and fostering a deeper understanding of the AfCFTA’s potential.
