Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has arrived at the Electoral Commission (EC) to officially submit his nomination form for the upcoming presidential election.
He is accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, along with Prempeh’s wife, Alma Pokua Adade-Prempeh. Several key NPP officials, including National Chairman Stephen Ntim, General Secretary Justin Koduah Frimpong, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and other party leaders, are also present to show their support.
Later today, John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is expected to file his nomination as well.
Bawumia is aiming to break the NPP’s traditional eight-year electoral cycle and succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s next president.
