The first Scheduled Meetings of the BoG’s Monetary Policy Committee will
start from Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 to Friday, January 28th, 2022.

The meetings are expected to review the economic development of the
country.

Dr. Ernest Addison, who doubles as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana and
the Chairperson of the Monetary Policy Committee is expected to make decisions that will influence the cost of credit in the country for the first three months of 2022.

He would be expected to critically analyze the monetary policy rate
which was reviewed from 13.5% to 14.5% during the 103rd meeting.

The Monetary Policy Rate is of keen interest to the private sector and businesses because it influences the interest rates on loans. It also determines the rate at which Central banks lend to commercial banks.

According to the notice issued, the meetings will conclude with a press
conference on Monday, January 31st, 2022 to announce the decision of the committee.
