The agreement was formalised on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Accra through an Exchange of Notes between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana and the Embassy of Japan.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after successfully meeting his bail conditions. The General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua, confirmed his release on the evening of Monday, June 2, in an interview with the media.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has once again declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a wanted person after he failed to appear in person before the office as directed.
He also reaffirmed the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s commitment to closing the education gap, particularly in underserved areas.
He said the OSP had been formally notified of the situation and had been provided with relevant medical documentation.
The CSA attributes the increase to the aggressive recovery methods used by these unauthorised loan apps, which frequently flout data protection regulations and consumer rights.
“Agriculture employs close to 40% of Ghana’s total workforce and supports about 75% of the rural population,” he stated.
Chairman Wontumi, is currently under investigation for a series of serious criminal offences, including fraud, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering.
The plaintiffs argue that this engagement contributed significantly to the wide dissemination of the alleged defamatory content.
The arrest occurred on Tuesday night after NACOC operatives, acting on intelligence, intercepted packages consigned to the suspect.
