Chamber of Bullion Traders supports 37 Hospital in COVID-19 fight

The Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana (CBTG) has supported the 37 Military Hospital as part of their contribution to the ongoing fight against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Chamber at the weekend donated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and cartons of bottled water to the hospital.

The items included 50 boxes of medical examination gloves, 20 boxes of hand sanitizers and 500 cartons of bottled water.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chamber, Mr Daniel Krapah said the gesture was to support the frontline workers in terms of protective gears in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus disease.

Mr Krapah noted that although this is the first donation of the Chamber towards the fight against Covid-19, they hope and believe that it will go a long way to augment the support the hospital has received so far in that regard..

The virus is now with us as people and therefore there is the need for all to put resources and energies together so that we can collectively fight it” he said.

He also said the protocols and safety measures put out by the government and all stakeholders are helping in containing and preventing the virus and therefore all must endeavor to adhere to them to stop the spread.

On his part, Chairman of the Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana, Kwabena Asante-Asare also stated that he is of the firm believe that when other individuals and institutions also see the need to support the front-liners with their widow’s mite in terms of PPE donations it will go a long way to help and boost the morale of the health workers. In a separate interview with the Camp Commandant at the 37 Military Hospital, Lieutenant Kenneth Degboe, who received the items on behalf of the Hospital, he expressed gratitude to the Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana for their kind gesture

The Chamber of Bullion Traders Ghana is a representative body of licensed gold dealers, suppliers of mining logistics and consumables, mining services and allied activities in Ghana.

It serves as an advocacy, lobby and representative body for the buying and exporting of gold produced by licensed miners in the country.

The Chamber currently holds a membership of over twenty licensed gold dealers and providers of related services who account for over 35 per cent of gold exports of Ghana.

The Chamber seeks to promote a sustainable gold industry in Ghana, promote partnership of members and lobby government on gold trade policies and laws and discourage illegal trade.

As an advocacy group the Chamber has a prime objective of promoting and protecting the interest of its members, take along members in its journey of creating better environment for gold dealership and allied activities in the country.
