Dr. Maryam Esaka Kriesie is a well-respected finance professional and academic with a wealth of experience in Ghana’s financial sector. She previously held a senior managerial position at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Ghana, where she played a key role in overseeing investments, licensing capital market operators, and contributing to regulatory frameworks that bolstered the nation’s capital markets.
In addition to her work at the SEC, Dr. Kriesie has had a successful academic career, lecturing at the University of Ghana Business School and the University of Professional Studies, Accra. She holds a PhD in Finance, an MBA, and certifications in Islamic Finance and ERP software.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Kriesie is a passionate advocate for women’s rights and empowerment, particularly in the economic sphere. As a Muslim, she emphasizes the need for empowering women in both formal and informal sectors.
