Container ship ONE ORPHEUS suffered rudder failure and got stuck in Suez Canal embankment, hitting moored pontoon, at around 1225 UTC Dec 6, in eastern lane of Canal in front of Ismailia. The ship was transiting Canal in northbound convoy, en route from Singapore to Netherlands. The ship was refloated at 1725 UTC Dec 6, in some 3 hours after grounding. Tugs assisted the ship in refloating, she resumed transit after fixing the problem. She exited Canal at around 2130 UTC, and anchored at Port Said outer anchorage. Remained anchored as of 0300 UTC Dec 7. Canal traffic was partially interrupted for several hours.
