Court approves extension for OSP filings in SML trial

The Accra High Court has granted the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) an extension to file and serve additional disclosures in the ongoing Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) trial involving former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Attah and seven other accused persons.

The order was issued by Francis Aponga Achiponga during a case management conference.

The prosecution has so far submitted two witness statements. When the case was called on Thursday, January 29, former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and former Customs Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Ernest Darko Akore, were not present in court, although the other accused individuals attended the proceedings.

Addressing the court, Principal Prosecutor Adelaide Kobiri Woode disclosed that the charge sheet had been revised to formally recognise the sixth accused, Kwadwo Damoah, with the title “Hon.” She confirmed that the updated charge sheet, which reflects charges previously agreed upon by all parties, has been served on each of the accused persons.
