The Electoral Commission (EC) is set to begin distributing ballot papers nationwide today, Thursday, November 14, ahead of the December 7 elections.
In a letter dated November 13, the EC notified the General Secretaries of political parties about the schedule. The first phase starts with Greater Accra today, followed by the Central, Western, Savannah, and Upper West Regions on Friday, November 15. Ballot papers will reach the Ashanti, Ahafo, and Western North Regions on Saturday, November 16.
This distribution is part of the EC’s comprehensive preparations, which have included finalizing voter registration, allocating polling stations, and training election officers.
Ballot papers will be securely stored in police facilities in each region until election day. On election day, they will be handed over to officials in the presence of party representatives to ensure transparency.
The EC has assured the public that stringent security measures are in place to maintain the integrity of the process and prevent tampering or unauthorized access.
