An Electoral Commission (EC) official in Kintampo South, Bono East Region, has been arrested for alleged electoral violations during the ongoing 2024 general elections.
The suspect, identified as Dery Joseph, is being investigated for reportedly issuing about 15 ballot papers to voters that excluded the first presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The incident, which took place at the Ampesika Bayere polling station, was confirmed in a statement released by the police.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the violation and any potential motive behind the actions.
