EC Revises 2024 Ballot Statistics for 20 Polling Stations

The Electoral Commission (EC) has provided an update on ballot statistics for the 2024 general elections, indicating adjustments in ballot paper allocations at 20 polling stations, which will necessitate printing additional ballot booklets.

This update, detailed in an October 28 press release, underscores the EC’s efforts to enhance electoral accuracy based on recent rulings and feedback gathered from a re-exhibition of the 2024 Provisional Voters Register. The decision to adjust ballot allocations follows thorough reviews by District Registration Review Officers (DRROs) and High Court rulings to resolve any discrepancies from voter registration.

The revisions stemmed from the re-exhibition process, which allowed voters and parties to verify voter information and address any inaccuracies that could impact the election outcome.

The EC emphasized its commitment to transparency and cooperation throughout this process, stating: “Following the decisions of District Registration Review Officers (DRROs), High Court rulings, and updates from the Re-Exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register, slight revisions have been made to the 2024 Ballot Statistics shared with Political Parties and Printing Firms. Twenty polling stations will require additional ballot booklets, and a list of these stations is provided for public awareness.”

The EC has shared the revised ballot statistics with political parties, independent presidential candidates, and printing firms, urging the public to take note of these changes.
