John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians to vote for him and his running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and to reject the “corrupt, greedy and arrogant” NPP government.
The former President called for change in the upcoming 2024 general elections, pledging to restore the dignity and prestige of the presidency. He criticized the current administration for diminishing the stature of the office and expressed his determination to revitalize it.
Mahama is optimistic that Ghanaians will support him to alleviate the nation’s hardships and suffering, aiming to end the current era of difficulty and usher in a new period of prosperity and progress.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Mr. Mahama said, “With your votes, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and I will restore dignity, humility, vision, and experience to the presidency. The TIME for CHANGE is coming, and like many Ghanaians, I am certain that on December 7, you will vote for change to end the suffering of this nation.”
He outlined his motivations for seeking the mandate in the December polls, emphasizing his commitment to creating decent jobs, reviving the struggling economy, and implementing policies to improve the livelihoods of Ghanaians.
“On December 7, I will need your vote to RESET our beloved country, Ghana, fix the broken economy, create decent and well-paying jobs for the youth through the 24-hour economy initiative, and establish a National Women’s Bank to provide financial assistance to one million women businesses,” he pledged.

Today is one hundred and fifty (150) days to the December 7, 2024, presidential and parliamentary elections.
The TIME for CHANGE is coming, and like many Ghanaians, I am certain that on December 7, you will vote for change to end the suffering of this nation.
I urge you, my fellow Ghanaians, to vote for John Dramani Mahama and the NDC for CHANGE to signal the need for us all to build the Ghana we want together.
