Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa visited the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant during his three-day state visit to Ghana, highlighting efforts to expand cooperation in sustainable waste management.

The trip reflects strengthening relations between Ghana and Zimbabwe, with a focus on promoting environmental sustainability and developing innovative, locally driven solutions to sanitation challenges across Africa.
At the facility, President Mnangagwa observed the plant’s recycling and composting operations, learning how waste materials are effectively converted into reusable resources. ACARP operates under the Jospong Group of Companies, a major contributor to Ghana’s sanitation initiatives.
Joseph Siaw Agyepong guided the president through the plant, explaining its impact in reducing landfill use while supporting environmental protection efforts.
Praising the facility, President Mnangagwa called it an exemplary model for efficient waste management in Africa and emphasized its potential for replication across the continent.
The visit also served as a platform for discussions on potential partnerships and exchange of expertise between Ghana and Zimbabwe, as both nations aim to improve their environmental management and sanitation practices.
