Mr Kwabena Adu Boahene, the former Director General (DG) of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), an agency of Ghana’s National Security Council, has been arrested and detained.
His arrest was carried out at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) upon his arrival on a British Airways flight from London, United Kingdom, on Thursday, 20 March 2025.
The former DG of the National Signals Bureau, following his arrival at the VIP section of the airport, went through immigration formalities and took a seat to wait for his bags.
While patiently waiting at the lougue for his bags, he was told by the immigration officers stationed at the VIP section that there was an issue with his name which needs to be rectified at the main office at Terminal 3.
Additionally, he was informed that he needed to have a discussion with the immigration boss at the airport. Mr Adu Boahene willingly followed the officers to the immigration office at Terminal 3 departure section.
After about 10mins he was told that he was on the Stop List by EOCO and wanted accordingly. Deputy Director of EOCO Raymond Archer who was personally present together with his team then handcuffed Mr Adu Boahene at the departure and escorted him through the airport departure hall in the company of about 6 officers.
He was pushed into a white Nissan Navara pick up with registration No GN 8850-22 with fully armed men. Another Navara Pick up and a white Toyota Corolla moved along with the vehicle which had Mr Adu Boahene in it. He was then whisked away to an unknown location.
