EU Reportedly To Soon Remove Ghana From Blacklist Over Money Laundering Issue

Diana Acconcia, Head of the European Union delegation to Ghana has hinted at the plans of the EU to delist from blacklisted countries for Illicit financial inflows. 


She indicated that the Union is working to remove Ghana from the list of terrorist financing states and money laundering as the country was added on 7th May 2020.

In an interview on PM Express Business Edition on Accra-based Joy News Channel, Mrs. Acconcia emphasized that Ghana has raised measures to deal with the matter that was waved by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).


According to her, the EU is currently waiting on the review of FATF before taking any further actions on the issue adding that it’s just a matter of time as they will be in town to review it or a possible virtual review.

She explained that they are ready to move Ghana from the list because the country has made a lot of progress
