The Republic of France donated a batch of 1,154,400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines on Wednesday, 17th November, 2021. So far, France has donated 1,750,800 doses of vaccines to Angola. The first and second donations were 100,800 doses and 495,600 doses respectively. For the first time, Angola has received more than 1 million AstraZeneca vaccines.
The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, stated that the donation reinforces the commitment made by the Angolan State to continue the fight against covid-19. According to Daniel Vosgien, French Ambassador to Angola, this donation is part of the cooperation agreement between the 2 countries. He added that France has planned for Africa a supply of 120 million vaccines. He also stated that his office would continue to support the Government in their fight against the covid-19 pandemic.
