Ghana to host African Development Bank’s Annual General Meeting in 2022

On Monday, 8th November 2021, Ghana and the African Development Bank (AfDB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to host AfDB’s Annual General Meeting next year, 2022 in Accra.
Currently, a delegation from Abidjan, the Head Office of AfDB, is in Ghana to assess the facilities ahead of 2022’s meeting. The Finance Minister of Ghana, Ken Ofori-Atta and the Secretary-General of the African Development Bank, Professor Vincent O. Nmehielle jointly signed the MOU.
According to a tweet posted by Honorable Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, ‘it is reassuring to know that the team on the mission has been satisfied so far with the general preparedness of our country and today’s MOU signing is yet another demonstration of our enduring commitment to the 2022 AGM’
Ken Ofori-Atta added that, ‘the 2022 AGM thus affords us the opportunity to strategize and advance our cause to recover and build forward better. We look forward to hosting all of you at this seminal event.’
Professor Vincent O. Nmehielle stated that, ‘we will continue to engage with the country’s team through the preparatory process until the end of the annul meetings.’
A delegation from the Ministry of Finance, Ghana and the AfDB witnessed the signing of the MOU.
