Accra. August 19. The Government of Ghana under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo has launched a website to track infrastructure projects undertaken by the government.
This revelation was made by the Vice president of the republic of Ghana Dr. Mamoud Bawumia during a town hall meeting and result fair held at the Academy of Arts and Science in Accra.
The vice president said the website will help Ghanaians track promises fulfilled by the government.
The website according to the vice president, was to enable all Ghanaians have access to and interrogate data that government have put together, adding that citizens could log on to www.deliverytracker.gov.gh.
Dr. Bawumia further opined that, when the address is accessed one could obtained infrastructural information from all facets of the economy such as, education, health, agriculture, amongst others adding that individuals
can also search by region specifics and districts.
‘Everything can be found on this website,” he added.
“As the name implies, the delivery tracker is a portal where the status of delivery of government promises and also infrastructural projects.
According to him the website would enhance transparency and accountability in governance, saying it will also enable the government to ensure that uncompleted projects are prioritised in the process of capital budget.
‘The portal is a living portal so it is going to be regularly updated.”
He further added.
The vice president further informed that, Ghana is the only country in Africa to have launched such a website.
“As far as we know, Ghana is the only country in Africa that has implemented this publicly accessible delivery tracker for its infrastructure projects. No other country has done so,” the Vice President added.
