According to a survey released on Monday, investor confidence in the euro zone declined for the third month in a row in October, reaching its lowest level since April, owing to lower economic prospects. Sentix’s euro zone index dropped to 16.9 from 19.6 in September. According to a Reuters survey, the October reading was 18.6.
The current conditions index dropped from 30.8 to 26.3. An expectations index decreased to 8.0 from 9.0, the lowest rate since May 2020, for the fifth month in a row.
“The economic recovery process continues to falter,” said Sentix Managing Director Patrick Hussy. “The continuing loss of momentum thus does not signal any autumn revival.”
Sentix surveyed 1,067 investors from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
