An agreed-upon ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. local time (midnight ET) on Friday, but a CNN crew in southern Israel reported that the ceasefire was beginning to take effect.
According to Qatari officials, Hamas is anticipated to free thirteen individuals at approximately 4 p.m. local time (9 a.m. ET). CNN was informed by an Israeli official As part of the agreement, 39 Palestinian inmates will also be freed on Friday.
