ISREAL-HAMAS WAR: TRUCE APPEARS TO BE IN EFFECT

An agreed-upon ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. local time (midnight ET) on Friday, but a CNN crew in southern Israel reported that the ceasefire was beginning to take effect.


According to Qatari officials, Hamas is anticipated to free thirteen individuals at approximately 4 p.m. local time (9 a.m. ET). CNN was informed by an Israeli official As part of the agreement, 39 Palestinian inmates will also be freed on Friday.
There will be more hostages released over the course of four days, with a total of fifty being freed. Additionally, Palestinian detainees are released in waves.
A CNN stringer said that on Friday, at least seven fuel trucks crossed into Gaza from the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.


After the brief ceasefire, Israel’s defense minister declared he would carry on the conflict “forcefully” and predicted at least two more months of fighting. Israel targeted locations in Gaza severely on Thursday.
