Kanye West is up to something at his new Malibu pad, and whatever it is, he wants the man who lives in one of the city’s most unusual mansions to assist him.
James Goldstein, the owner of the historic Sheats-Goldstein Residence in L.A.’s Beverly Crest neighborhood, claimed he just met with Ye… and it seems like they’re going to collaborate on an architectural project.
That project, we’re told, involves some complicated ideas KW has for his newly purchased estate along the coast… plans he hopes Goldstein can help him with, given his expertise in the sector.
If you don’t already know, JG’s house is one of the most awe-inspiring in all of La La Land, thanks to its mind-bending construction and elaborate design — the majority of which was completed by the late John Lautner, who collaborated with James years ago to bring his vision to life.
With that in mind, James received a call from Kanye last week asking if they might collaborate on home design, and after sending his own architect out to evaluate James’ property, the man himself paid a visit on Friday to see it.
According to James, Ye took a comprehensive tour of the grounds, taking photos and complementing particular elements he found impressive — such as the stairway and the pool — before revealing what he really wanted: for him (James) to come over to the ‘Bu and assist him with his project.
James claims that Ye is interested in his knowledge and perspective, and he has accepted his request.
Now, as for what precisely Kanye is cooking up, JG claims he showed him some drawn-up rectangular-based blueprints, but he couldn’t make sense of them, so he’ll be dropping over in person soon to discuss more in depth and figure out what Ye’s planning.
