Japan considers more budget support for chip plant expansion – Kyodo

Per the Kyodo Reports on Friday, Japan’s government is considering spending hundreds of billions of yen as part of a stimulus package to assist the development of semiconductor plants this fiscal year.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had earlier in the day directed his cabinet to put together an economic package to help alleviate the effects of the coronavirus outbreak, which would be paid by a surplus budget.
