On Sunday, actor Jason Momoa, who plays the character on television, previewed his heroic dye job on Instagram. “This is the last day of the brown. I’m gonna be a blonde — supposedly have more fun,” he said in a video posted to the social media platform. “I don’t know about that; we’ll test it out.”

Momoa revealed that he had just arrived in London, England, to begin filming “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” the sequel to “Aquaman.” Aquaman’s hair in the first film was black with lighter ends, inspired by California surfers, according to his hairstylist.

“We wanted it to look natural because he’s in and out of the ocean all the time,” Jen Stanfield told the publication in 2018.

It’s unclear whether Momoa is planning a more dramatic color change or merely repeating what he did in the first film. Meanwhile, the picture will be released in late 2022.
