Just In: President Alassane Ouattara removes the prime minister and dissolved his government

Ivory Coast’s President Alassane Ouattara has removed the prime minister and dissolved his government, the presidency’s secretary general Aboudramane Cisse on Friday 6 October, 2023 made this known. No reason was giving for the action

The Ivorian president expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Mr. Patrick Achi and to all members of his government for their commitment to serving the nation over the past years. He is said to form a new government in the coming days to steer the affairs of the country. Ivory Coast were also recipients of an IMF bailout some few months ago.
