Kpone. (GAR) July 08. GAR- The kpone katamanso Municipal Assembly has elected Mr. Joseph Gbeze as Presiding Member for the third Assembly of the kpone katamanso municipal assembly in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr.Gbeze won the election the first round after two other aspirants contested in four previous rounds but failed to secure the two third majority votes need to win the Presiding members election in January and February this year .
In his victory speech, Mr. Joseph Gbeze, an accountant by profession stated that, it was time assembly members consider the development of their electoral areas as top priority.
He added that, his duty would be to unite the Assembly Members so to meet the demands of the residents.
According to the newly elected Presiding Member, Assembly members must endeavor to embark on communal labor on monthly basis and also fall on the municipal Assembly for assistance
I will ensure that, adequate resource were provided to facilitate the work of Assembly members within their various ommunities.
Mr. Gbeze pulled 18 votes as against his closest contender Mr. George Ahingua who managed some 10 votes.
The Kpone Municipal Assembly has 28 Assembly Members of which 18 are elected and 9 Appointees of the rulling New patriotic Party(NPP)
