Kpone Police Grap 2 Fake Food & Drugs Authority Officers

Kpone (GAR) July 1. The Kpone Police command have arrested two suspects claiming to be officers from the Food and Drugs Authority who had come to inspect Dada Food company Limited in Kpone.
The suspects, Emmanuel Okai Sowa 28 years native of Odokor and Nathan Tei 30 years old native of Madina also in the Greater Accra Region and graduates from the University of Professional Studies Accra(UPSA) were arrested by the kpone police command in the early hours of Wednesday morning
Speaking to Gitficonline. Com in Kpone, Mr. James Lartey head of Communications, Food and Drug Authority stated that, his office recieved a call from Dada Food Company in Kpone about some officers claiming to be from the FDA to have their products inspected.
According to him the secratary of the company became suspicious about the authencity of the letter the suspects presented as letter of authority from the FDA.
He noted that, after he was sent a copy of the letter, he noticed the document was forged and quickly instructed the company to call the police to have them arrested.
Mr.Lartey further warned the general public to be extra vigilant about the activities of these unscrupulous people who visits their offices in the name of FDA.
According to him officers from FDA do not demand for money when on official duties, and the public should not hesitate to call the FDA when they have suspensions about such characters.
Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP) Seth Tay kpone Katamanso District police commander hinted that, the suspects would be arranged before court after the police were done with it investigations adding that the suspects claimed to be graduates from the University of Professional Studies Accra(UPSA).
He added that an insider name withheld aided the suspects to carry out such activity.
‘We will pick him up soon’ he noted.
