The Member of Parliament for Krachi East, Mr. Djabab, has expressed satisfaction with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s efforts in addressing the premix fuel supply challenges facing the nation.
According to him, the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration’s failure to ensure Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) paid the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) for premix fuel led to shortages and inconsistent supply.
Mr. Djabab attributed the backlog of unpaid bills and ultimate shortage of premix fuel to the NPP’s time in power, stating that OMCs were not fulfilling their financial obligations to TOR.
He praised the NDC government’s proactive approach in engaging with OMCs to pay incurred costs, resulting in a stabilized premix fuel supply across the nation.
The MP emphasized the importance of consistent premix fuel supply for the region’s fishing communities, highlighting the NDC government’s commitment to addressing their needs.
During his thank-you tour, Mr. Djabab expressed gratitude to Krachi East residents for their support in electing him and President Mahama in the December 7, 2024, election.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East, Mr. Safo Nketia, highlighted the collaborative efforts between himself and the MP to drive development in the constituency. Mr. Nketia revealed plans to transform Dambai township through initiatives such as:
– Upgrading Town Roads: Improving infrastructure and facilitating easier transportation
– Enhancing Water Quality: Ensuring residents have access to clean and safe water
– Providing Farmers with Essential Inputs: Boosting agricultural productivity and food security
– Creating Employment Opportunities: Implementing programs to stimulate economic growth and development
Residents of Kpogede, a fishing community in Krachi East, appealed to the MP to renovate their school and upgrade the Cement-Kpogede-Asizakpe road. The appeal was made by community members, including Ms. Ever Jepeh and Madam Mary Tepeakor, after engaging with the MP.
