President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated Ghana’s resolve to expand trade, investment, and financial partnerships with Zambia.
Addressing Zambia’s Parliament on Thursday, February 5, he praised the country’s leadership and citizens for restoring macroeconomic stability, describing recent developments as encouraging signs for investors and regional allies.
“The strengthening of the Zambian Kwacha and the continued reform programme are clear signals of progress. Ghana is keen to build stronger trade, investment, and financial links with Zambia to promote shared resilience and prosperity,” he stated.
Mahama also voiced confidence in Zambia’s democratic credentials, noting that Ghana closely follows the nation’s political developments and extended his best wishes ahead of the 2026 general elections.
“As Zambia moves toward elections in August 2026, we have confidence in your democratic institutions and the resolve of your people to ensure peaceful, credible, and transparent polls,” he added.
The comments reflect Ghana’s broader commitment to regional cooperation and collective economic advancement across Africa.
