Manchester City’s Iconic Coach Pep Guardiola And Wife Split After 30 Years Of Marriage

Guardiola and Serra, who share two daughters and one son, have decided to separate after staying together for 30 years, The Daily Star and The Sunday Mirror reported.

Guardiola started dating Serra in 1994 when Pep was a Barcelona player. In 2019, Serra started living in Barcelona even though Pep stayed back in Manchester to coach Premier League soccer club Manchester City.

Reports suggest that the couple have taken the bold decision. However, even after separation, Pep and Serra were seen together in occasions, as per Daily Star and The Sunday Mirror reported.

Pep took Lionel-Messi’s Spanish giant to zenith of success with his astute managerial mastermind. Subsequently, he moved to Germany and started coaching Bayern Munich. In 2016, Pep became the manager of Manchester City.

In Barcelona, Pep won continental treble (UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Spanish domestic cup). With Bayern Munich, Pep won three Bundesliga titles. Pep helped City win Premier League six times, and the coveted Champions League trophy.

On the field, Guardiola’s City is facing tough times. Guardiola said on Monday that Manchester City need to invest during the January transfer window due to injury problems and a faltering Premier League campaign. He also acknowledged it may have been a mistake to rule out signings in the summer.

City’s title defence looks all but over after six league defeats has left them sixth in the standings and 12 points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.
