Mobile Consular Services: Ghana Embassy to launch Mobile Passport, Visa Services in US from October 2025

The Ghanaian diaspora in the U.S. has been assured of easier access to vital consular services without the need to travel to Washington, DC coming October, 2025.

The Embassy of Ghana in Washington, DC, will relaunch its Mobile Consular Services initiative, providing passport renewals, visa processing, and other consular assistance directly within U.S. communities beginning October, 2025.

Mr. Tsatsu Selormey, Deputy Head of Consular Affairs made this announcement during GhanaFest’25 in Dallas, Texas. He highlighted that the renewed effort is part of a broader operational restructuring aimed at improving service accessibility for Ghanaians across the country.

He explained that the Consular teams will travel to various cities to offer services such as passport renewals, visa applications, and related support.

He went on to emphasize that the outreach is specifically intended for those residing in states and cities distant from the capital.

Mr. Selormey also underscored the importance of avoiding intermediaries, advising the public to engage only with official consular personnel to ensure transparent and efficient service delivery.

GhanaFest, hosted annually by the Council of Ghanaian Associations (COGA-DFW), featured a vibrant showcase of traditional music, dance, cuisine, and local vendors.

The event brought together chiefs, ethnic groups, and members of the Ghanaian diaspora in celebration of cultural heritage.

Reaffirming the Embassy’s dedication, Mr. Selormey stated that the Mission is “fully committed to serving both the Ghanaian and broader diaspora communities to the highest standard.”

He also encouraged Ghanaians abroad to foster unity, promote national identity, and support Ghana as a prime destination for tourism and investment.
