MoU signed between Haruna Iddrisu and Google to support digital education growth

A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Haruna Iddrisu-led Ministry of Education and Google for Education, with representation from its Global Managing Director, Kelvin Kells.

The agreement represents a significant milestone in Ghana’s efforts to modernise its education system through the integration of advanced Artificial Intelligence tools into teaching and learning nationwide.

Under the partnership, digital literacy is expected to be enhanced, teachers will receive improved training and capacity building, and innovation in classrooms will be promoted while equipping students with essential 21st-century skills for a rapidly evolving global economy.

During the signing ceremony, the Education Minister described the deal as a transformational achievement that highlights government’s resolve to harness technology, innovation, and international partnerships to improve learning outcomes and prepare students for future employment opportunities.

The initiative also places Ghana in a stronger position as a forward-looking country committed to using Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation to build a more inclusive, competitive, and future-ready education system.

This collaboration reinforces the broader national agenda to ensure that every Ghanaian child benefits from the opportunities created in the fast-changing digital era.
