The Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has said that the technical issues that have resulted in power cuts to some areas in Accra will be fully resolved by the end of the year.

He made this known on Tuesday, April 6th when he paid a working visit to the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) noting that they are working feverishly to resolve the challenges that have come up due to technical difficulties with the transmission lines as they hope resolved by the year ending.

He added that most it the transmission lines are old and they haven’t seen any changes.

Napo emphasized that the line they just informed about strung in the 50s and some in the 60s and the power it was supposed to transmit to Accra increased tremendously due to the expansion of Accra yet the lines have remained the same.

According to him they are now giving lines that can improve power situation in Accra adding that the country is not back to ‘Dumsor’ era
